Contemporary oil paintings and art by Tracey Pearce-Sampson

ABOUT TRACEY

With artistic mottos such as like ‘Always look up’ and ‘Urban Mindfulness’, my art aims to capture the unique beauty, angles, colours, or historic references of what she sees so that others can see it too.

Being curious to look for deeper meanings is something ingrained within me - as is creative problem solving - this is something that spans across my art and my corporate career as a Senior Brand & Marketing Consultant and as a former graphic designer.

Tracey PearceSampson Art

"Based in Brisbane, Australia, I am a self-taught hobby artist that uses oils and acrylics to paint in a realism style. More recently I have been experimenting with more textured and 'painterly' style art. I am drawn to seek out unexpected beauty, colours, and angles in everyday scenes especially rustic and gritty urban scenes, industrial structures, minimalist designs and still life objects.

Most days, I actively seek out painting inspiration - reminding myself to ‘always look upward’ and take a moment for ‘mindfulness in everyday urban environments’.My interest in art started when I was 8 years old when I started drawing with chalk and pencils.

During high school I received formal recognition and awards through local junior exhibitions and senior high school academic awards. Straight out of high school, I studied graphic and commercial design which lead to me into a 10 year career as a Graphic Designer followed by 20 years as a Brand Strategist and Marketer.

While art has taken a back seat to my creative career, it has always been a leisure pursuit which I am increasingly making time for. What time and experience has afforded me is the ability to accept that art is a journey. One that needs experimentation, continual practice and forever learning."
